Equanimity Fund II is pleased to announce a Seed round investment in ConsumerTech startup, Hi Hello, a fun social meet-up app for ‘Bharat’.
Hi Hello App is a multilingual and secure dating platform for Bharat, which understands the unique aspirations, likes, dislikes, and dreams of the youth, with features such as no fake or duplicate profiles, safe content, proprietary matching, localized search, and secure in-app voice calls, among others. It is available in 10 Indic languages – Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Odia, Kannada, Malayalam, and Punjabi.
The founders, Shyam Tallamraju and Soumik Sarkar saw the problem statement that there is no technological product that can democratize the dating process in multiple languages across our diverse country. They set out on a 4-month road trip to understand the art and science of relationships in Tier 2 & Tier 3 towns in India which led to the creation of Hi Hello.
Commenting on the development, Rajesh Sehgal, Managing Partner of Equanimity, said, “Hi Hello opens up a whole new world of dating for the non-English speaking internet & mobile-savvy youth. The team is building Bharat-first with features that keep authenticity, transparency, and meaningful engagement at its core. Speaking about the app, the founders commented, “Jio, low-cost smartphones, and UPI have changed the landscape of non-metro India in more ways than one can imagine. Youngsters these days in Bharat are familiar with world events and updated with all the fashion trends, the only difference being that they prefer communicating in their native language. We saw this as an opportunity to target the most fundamental element of relationships and create a dating app called Hi Hello to target more than 125 million youngsters in the age group of 18-24 years who are digital natives and mobile-first users of a new India.”
